Hydromining feed hoses operate in some of the toughest conditions on a mine site. They must withstand high pressures while remaining flexible enough to move with the monitor and durable enough to handle constant dragging and rough handling.
At the Century Mine operated by Sibanye-Stillwater, we have supplied the complete hydromining cannon feed hose package since 2019, with over $2 million in hose assemblies supplied to site. Manufactured in 12-metre lengths and rated to 40 bar working pressure, our Turboflex hose technology provides exceptional flexibility without compromising strength or reliability.
Design Improvements
As part of our ongoing product development, the original built-in coupling design was upgraded to a beaded end construction with swivel flanges. This lighter, more robust design improved handling, simplified installation and significantly increased hose service life.
Traditionally, spigot-end connections have been the standard for high-pressure mining hose applications. By challenging conventional designs and working closely with site personnel, we developed a solution that delivered improved reliability, reduced maintenance requirements and lower operating costs for the hydromining system.
